We Have Made Deals with Several New Countries for Globalizati


Santa Farma Plant Director Uğur Çağlayan and Santa Farma Business Development Director Ayça Sezer shared information about the localization and globalization efforts of the company.


Santa Farma, which shall celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2024, invested EUR 150 million in its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant which was commissioned for the benefit of Turkish pharmaceutical industry with a closed space of 44 thousand sqm in Dilovası, Kocaeli in 2015 in order to contribute to the localization of Turkish pharmaceutical industry. The manufacturing plant which boasts of the capacity to manufacture annually 150 million boxes in a single shift based on EU-GMP, TR-GMP and Jordanian GMP certificates not only manufactures products for our country and countries of export but also provides localization support to global and domestic pharmaceutical companies which are engaged in importing pharmaceutical products.


In addition to the manufacturing plant, the company operates an R&D centre located on a land of 4,000 sqm. Accredited by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, the R&D centre offers product development and, if necessary, improvement support to the contracted partners and develops innovative products and new combinations to create a difference in terms of presentation and/or form of use in order to contribute to our position in the domestic market as well as global markets.


Regarding globalization, we have launched a number of projects in Europe and made deals with several new countries.


At Santa Farma, we signed a joint product development agreement with the EU for the first time this year and the first EU registration will come in 2023. Furthermore, we are taking good steps to create an export network throughout the world. Having exported our products to 16 countries in 2020, we aim to increase the number of export markets to around 55 countries by 2023, thanks to the new deals. To that end, we constantly renew our infrastructure, organization and business methods by concentrating on foreign markets.
