Santa Farma Dermatology Team answered our questions about the current position of the company and the studies and scientific solutions offered to doctors in dermatology.
Could you introduce dermatology team of Santa Farma to us?
As a company dedicated to offering healthy services to health for more than 75 years, Santa Farma offers its dermatology portfolio to the benefit of Turkish doctors and pharmacists by means of two different teams. Marketing Managers Şazer Gügük and Manolya Hale Solak, Product Managers Özge Çoruh and Demet Ömeroğlu, and Medical Managers Dr. Ezgi Aygül, Pharm. Kıvanç Uçar and Pharm. Çağla Taşkıran are in charge of those products.
What sort of treatment solutions do you offer?
Thanks to our large product portfolio and rich variety of forms for treatment of dermatologic conditions, we aim to contribute to treatment of fungus, urticaria, acne, superficial skin infections and dermatosis by offering different options to doctors. For treatment of superficial fungal infections, we offer a wide range of options comprised of oral and topical antifungals, topical antifungal and corticosteroid combinations. In addition to presenting three different antihistaminic options for treatment of urticaria in adults, we also provide suitable solutions for paediatric urticaria patients of 2 years and above. Our topical antibiotic, on the other hand, is effective in treatment of acne vulgaris and superficial skin infections. And we have a corticosteroid product which is respondent to corticosteroids and effective in treatment of inflammatory, allergic and itchy lesions of dermatoses not related to microorganisms. This product allows us to provide suitable forms for different lesions without compromising safety.
How did Covid-19 pandemic affect your business methods?
Covid-19 has changed our existing habits by transforming various aspects of our lives. Self-isolation has resulted in changes in our needs and use of technology to a great extent. As a company dedicated to offering “healthy services to health” for more than 75 years, we had to reshape our business methods in order to adapt to the changing world. The difficulty in contacting doctors led us to give more importance on organizing digital activities for dermatologists and family physicians. Hence, we endeavoured to contact doctors through “remote presentations” in order to contact them with the help of digital technologies. We managed to attract the attention of doctors thanks to our patient-focused projects intended to create benefits for both patients and doctors. In that respect, our webcasts proved to be especially popular with doctors as they were designed to explain tips to diagnose challenging cases with similar indications in order to ensure effective treatment of dermatophytosis.
Could you tell us about the ongoing projects?
Another objective of Santa Farma İlaç is to organize training programmes on dermatology in order to provide useful medical information that will contribute to the professional development of assistant and specialist doctors who primarily aim to further their academic career.
Using the advantage of embracing digital transformation, we will keep guiding dermatology with projects contributing to professional development of doctors as well as patient-focused projects and customized webcast contents for doctors. We will share our projects on “Dermazone”, a platform we have created for dermatologists, in order to help dermatologists reach the information they need at anywhere and anytime.
We aim to create a new perspective to dermatologic conditions and patients by presenting new treatment options by means of planning launches in dermatology, enriching our portfolio of dermatologic products and undertaking multidisciplinary projects with new launches and existing products. We will keep offering healthy services to health by making physical and online visits in order to keep dermatologists informed of therapeutic developments in the field.
