QUESTIONS TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

1- What are the duties and responsibilities of your division?

Training Division is mainly responsible for promoting development of both employees and the organization by supporting career development of employees, increasing the performance and motivation of employees as well as improving the corporate performance and helping the company and employees keep up with changing and developing conditions.

To that end, we have launched Santa Farma Academy in order to create a framework that will provide competent, effective and innovative solutions by focusing on improving the performance of employees and nourishing a culture of learning.

2- What sort of joint activities or collaborations do you make with other internal divisions?

At Training Division, we cooperate with flexible education companies and professionals in order to customize and develop training programmes and contents in line with the interests and needs of our employees so that we may support their professional and personal development. And we make all evaluations in collaboration with the relevant department.

We provide support to the Hiring team as part of the collaboration projects with universities. We organize training on Career Coaching, Employees in the 21st Century in order to support university students by determining their competencies and expectations.

Based on the request of the employees, we engage in “A Graduate from Your Class” events organized at universities. In that respect, we help our employees make preparations for such events and enrich our processes through Career Coaching, training and mentorship activities.

We organize online training programmes on Occupational Health and Safety in cooperation with the Occupational Safety Department, Medical Knowledge with the Occupational Physician, and GMP, EU-GMP and Documentation with the Quality Assurance Department. We prepare effectiveness reports in order to support measurement and evaluation processes.

Also, we act in cooperation with the Marketing, Promotion, Sales Department in order to create and offer Product-specific Storification training, Remote Promotion, Communication in the New Age and similar other professional training programmes, contents and case studies intended to improve competencies in line with the needs of the site teams.

3- How did you integrate training programmes into digital platforms during the pandemic? What are the most important difference between face-to-face training and online training?

During the pandemic, we started by deciding the training programmes which could be provided online. We created the inventories, videos and reading materials to be shared before and after the training. We determined the contents, sessions and total training hours with due regard for the period of online concentration. We reduced the number of participants and increased the number of groups in order to enable participants to exchange opinions online. Where possible, we made use of games and live competitions in order to add an interactive dimension to training programmes. We also uploaded the training videos on the training management system in our intranet in order to enable participants to watch the training again.

Although interaction also exists in online training, face-to-face training sessions are more advantageous in terms of interaction and group synergy. It is quite challenging for trainers to create group synergy online when compared to face-to-face training.

4- What is challenging and fun about working on training and development?

Training and Development is about making continuous research, creating sustainable projects, listening and hearing the needs of other departments, setting good options to facilitate decision making processes, simplifying and clarifying their needs, identifying those needs with the organizational development and believing in the potential of individuals.  Of course, monitoring the pre-training and post-training performance is involved. Management of all those processes is both challenging and inspiring.

And the most enjoyable part comes when the projects created with painstaking efforts are finally concluded with intended results, internal customer satisfaction is guaranteed by meeting the needs, and positive feedback is received during the post-training process.
