On June 10, Global Pharmacists and Turkish Pharmacists met at a live broadcast conducted over the private portal of Turkey for pharmacists, hosted at www.eczazone.com, via the International Pharmaceutical Federation and the Turkish Pharmacists Association, with the unconditional support of Santa Farma and Intraline

In the live broadcast watched by 1,468 healthcare professionals from 17 countries, the issue of "Covid-19 Management in Pharmacies" were discussed in the light of experiences of pharmacists from Turkey, Finland, Spain, and France

The live broadcast was moderated by Prof. Dr. Tayfun Uzbay and attended by Mr. Ahmet Çakan from Turkey, Ms. Jacqueline Surugue from France, Ms. Ash Soni from UK, Ms. Jamie Acosta Gomez from Spain, and Ms. Evea Terasalmi from Finland, all being pharmacists.

Pharmacists working in different parts of the world discussed the role of pharmacists in the pandemic process, the measures taken for pharmacies in their countries, the attitude of the society and the approach to healthcare workers in the Covid-19 process, and the pandemic and post-pandemic plans of their countries.

It was observed that pharmacists in all countries undertook important issues such as disinfectant production, but the problems experienced with respect to masks and drug stocks were common. One of the important topics discussed was whether professional organizations of pharmacists established a crisis desk during this period and how they supported pharmacists.

It was stated that in most countries, the public is prevented from coming to pharmacies unless necessary, that pharmacists continue their health counseling duties during the pandemic by phone, and that the patients in the risk group are provided with medicines delivered to their homes. Particularly in Spain, pharmacists were allowed to share information via social media during the pandemic, and 2.2 million people received remote health counseling. This process was regarded as a good experience for transition to remote consultancy using technology.

The importance of sharing experience among pharmacists in decreasing mortality rates worldwide was especially emphasized. It was shared that during the pandemic, pharmacists were seen as an indispensable and important part of the society, and in many countries, the public was proud to applaud pharmacists along with doctors.
