TERM OF OFFICE OF IOE PRESIDENT EROL KİRESEPİ IS EXTENDED FOR ONE YEAR

The International Organisation of Employers which represents more than 150 organisations from over 140 countries agreed to extend the term of presidency of Erol Kiresepi for one year. Mr Kiresepi was elected as IOE President in 2017.


 



 


In its centenary, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) resolved to extend the term of Erol Kiresepi, Santa Farma İlaç Chairman and Deputy President of Union of Chemical Petroleum Rubber and Plastic Industry Employers of Turkey (KİPLAS) and IOE President since 2017. IOE General Council which is held in May or June every year was organized virtually on November 24 due to the pandemic. As IOE members unanimously resolved to extend the term of office of Kiresepi for one year, he will remain in charge of the largest organisation of employers with the highest representation power in global scale till the next IOE General Council.




“Embodying the values of IOE for 100 years”


In his address to the General Council, Erol Kiresepi said, “From the outset and spanning two World Wars, a Cold War and the extraordinary rise of a connected and global economy, IOE’s values have remained a commitment to dialogue, solidarity between employers, and an unwavering support and investment in a free market economy and multilateral international system that works for all. The 50 million companies that are part of the IOE network today and the millions of other enterprises that came before us have shown a steadfast dedication to these values”. Kiresepi noted that these values embodying the 100 years’ history of IOE continue to drive the efforts of employers in the challenging times arising from coronavirus pandemic and effective engagement of employees in the multilateral international system would contribute to the development of private sector.

KİPLAS made an announcement about the extension of Erol Kiresepi’s term of presidency:


“The extension of Kiresepi’s term for one year unanimously by all members representing 150+ organisations from more than 140 countries in such a challenging time is a real indication of the increasing representation power of Turkish employers in international platforms as well as Kiresepi’s outstanding success in this distinguished office. We congratulate Mr Kiresepi, our Deputy President and Member since 1977. We wish him continued success in the future.”

Established in 1961, the Union of Chemical Petroleum Rubber and Plastic Industry Employers of Turkey (KİPLAS) is an organisation of employers. It has 79 members operating on various fields including chemicals, rubber, plastic, paint, petrochemicals, and composites.


KİPLAS primarily offers Industrial Relations and Technical Training-Consulting services.
