Santa Farma executes a toll manufacturing agreement with Japanese pharmaceutical giant Astellas
Santa Farma will manufacture Astellas’ product for urinary system disorders in its new manufacturing plant in Dilovası.
Santa Farma, one of the most deep-rooted and robust domestic pharmaceutical companies in Turkey, agreed to collaborate with Astellas, a leading Japanese pharmaceutical company. As part of this collaboration, Santa Farma Manufacturing Centre, which was commissioned in GEBKİM OIZ with an investment worth EUR 150 million in 2015, will undertake domestic manufacturing of Astellas’ product for urinary system disorders.
Founded in 1923, Astellas operates in 50 countries throughout the world by means of several therapeutic products for oncology, urology, neurology and the like. Santa Farma, on the other hand, has adopted toll manufacturing as one of the main business fields after commissioning Santa Farma manufacturing plant and R&D centre on a land of 80 thousand sqm in Dilovası GEBKİM OIZ and accordingly, it will manufacture the innovative products of Astellas in its manufacturing plant that holds the EU Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance certificate. Santa Farma intends to become the manufacturing hub for the products of Astellas in Europe in the long term under this collaboration.
