Santa Farma, one of the most well-rooted domestic pharmaceutical companies in Turkey, entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with MEALIS Middle East Life Sciences under which MEALIS has been assigned the selling, marketing and distribution rights of a drug formulated with duloxetine hydrochloride and used for treatment of moderate and severe stress type urinary incontinence affecting women.
Santa Farma proudly invested EUR 150 million in its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant which was commissioned for the benefit of Turkish pharmaceutical industry with a closed space of 43 thousand sqm in Dilovası, Kocaeli in 2015. The manufacturing plant which boasts of the capacity to manufacture annually 150 million boxes in a single shift based on EU-GMP, TR-GMP and Jordanian GMP certificates not only manufactures products for Turkey and countries of export but also provides localization support to global and domestic pharmaceutical companies which are engaged in importing pharmaceutical products.

Urinary Incontinence
Urinary incontinence is a disorder which frequently affects the seniors and women. 1 out of 3 patients with urinary incontinence disorder seeks medical help in the world. The disease is known to disrupt the life quality of the remaining 2 out of 3 patients due to lack of medical intervention. In Turkey, solely 12% of women with urinary incontinence seek medical help. In general, patients are prone to consider urinary incontinence as a byproduct of old age but it is a treatable disorder. There are three types of urinary incontinence which are stress incontinence, urge incontinence and mixed incontinence. According to scientific research, stress incontinence is the most common type of incontinence as it affects 49% of all patients.
