IOE President Erol Kiresepi: “Social dialogue is indispensable for economic stability and growth”

Mr Erol Kiresepi, President of International Organisation of Employers, Deputy President of KIPLAS and Chairman of Santa Farma, addressed the participants of Joint Exchange Forum organised by Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TISK), where he underlined the vital importance of social dialogue, an offspring of democracy and participation, as an indispensable part of economic stability and growth.



 


Mr Erol Kiresepi, President of International Organisation of Employers (IOE), Deputy President of KIPLAS and Chairman of Santa Farma, took the stage at the Joint Exchange Forum organised by Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TISK). Mr Kiresepi noted that the centenary of International Labour Organisation (ILO) implies the centenary of trilateralism and social dialogue at the same time and therefore, governments, employers and employees have been dedicated to act together with a view to promoting a productive business life and engaging in respectable occupations for hundred years. Mr Kiresepi also expressed his gratitude to TISK for organising the Joint Exchange Forum in addition to assuming significant roles in domestic and global level for upholding social dialogue as the sole umbrella organisation of Turkish employers in terms of industrial relations.


Skills gap constitutes a significant challenge for employers


Referring to the results of a joint survey conducted by ILO and IOE, Mr Kiresepi underlined that the great majority of corporate executives agree that skills gap is a major issue for corporations according to which 78% of the executives held that the school and education curriculum should be updated to match the economy’s needs while this opinion was upheld more fervently by executives of SMEs of whom 84% agree with this requirement.
