Alzheimer Public Availability Session which is held by Turkey Alzheimer Instutition has begun in Antalya
Alzheimer Public Availability Session which has been made with the contribution of Santa Farma among the Turkey's leading domestic pharmaceutical company in Antalya Döşemealtı Municipality Conference Hall by attandance of Assoc. Prof. Dr Nur Ebru Barçın from Akdeniz University Neurology Department.
In the meeting with the topic” Preventation Methods from Azheimer and Alzeimer Patient Care” latest developments about this disease have been shared. In public open event information about Azheimer has been given.
Turkey Alzheimer Institution performs the awereness works about Alzheimer, preventation form Alzheimer and patient care with website www.unutmaseni.org as well as the public awereness meetings.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nur Ebru Barçın who is pointing that there are approximately 650 thousand Alzheimer patient in our Country and it will be 850 thousand in 2023 has stated the number of Alzhemir patient in all the World is increasing. Barçın said “ Alzhemir is not an ilness that is not the result of age but the rate is increasing with age. The first complaint in Alzheimer is memory loss of the relative. So the person can not make daily activities as the past level that she / he could make in the past. Not only memory loss but also loss in cognitive domain has been in time. Alzheimer has 3 phase which include light, moderate and heavy. In light phase depression, giving up hobbies can be observed. In moderate phase behavior disorder and sometimes urinary incontinence can be observed. In heavy phase loses in cognitive domain can be observed, person has difficulty in standing, there can be disorders in eating food.”
Barçın who is pointing out the importance of social activities in preventation from Alzheimer states that learning new language, having hobby, activities making mind active as solving puzzle are important.
Alzhemir Public Availability Session will be taken place in Ankara ,Bursa, İzmir and İstanbul after Antalya.
